The Dog Days of August... at Sewing Arts

Published: Tuesday - August 26, 2008

Hi, kids! My semi sort of weekly sort of monthly sort of bi-annual update on all the news that’s fit to chew – I mean, print -- at Sewing Arts Center. (Sorry for the canine metaphors, but we just got two new puppies that we rescued from www.BorderColliesInNeed.org, Lugosi and Samantha… Our hands are full, and Ruby is none too pleased…though she’s warming up. I actually caught her playing with Lugosi…)

We’ve been working madly on the schedule of classes for the fall trimester (September through December 2008)…AND the winter trimester (January through April 2009). And guess what? They are all posted! All the way through April 2009 on our newly remodeled website, www.SewingArtsCenter.com! Now you’ll know what’s coming at you months and months ahead of time! The newsletter is at the printer (which really means we had a couple of glitches and changes to be made, so are doing final proofs now), so the hard copy should be available in house on Wednesday. We’ll post it to the website tomorrow for your downloading pleasure.

Please let us know what you think about the new website. It’s got a slick new look, and we hope you’ll find it even easier to navigate. And, as always, if you have any questions or concerns at all, give us a call. We’ll be happy to help.

Our “Making Way For Fall” Specials on through Friday, August 29: selected fabrics, 40% off; selected threads, just a buck a spool; classroom and demonstrator machines on sale. And yep, you can finance them, too! (the sewing machines, that is…)

As we head into this final week of summer and fly headlong into the fall season (how’d that happen?) we just wanted to thank you all for sharing the summer with us!

Have a great Labor Day weekend! (Oh…speaking of which, we’ll be closed on Sunday AND Monday for the holiday.) If you have an inkling, come join Becky and Russell in Sky Forest for the annual Lake Arrowhead quilt show this Saturday, August 30th, from 10-4 PM. It’s an outdoor show with plenty to see, and we’ll be there, too, doing demonstrations in our new retreat space… Uh-Ohhh… I let the cat out of the bag. Let us know if you can come!
