Sewing Arts Center's Highly Anticipated...

Published: Wednesday - August 26, 2009

Newsletter is here! Uploaded for your delight and pleasure, you can download your very own copy in pdf format from the home page at www.SewingArtsCenter.com! Believe it or not, there are 33 new classes this trimester! (That's what took me so long!) Lots to keep your sewing, and sewing, and sewing...

There's several new "studio" classes - our new Stitch Cafe hosted by Barbara Lillis for hand embroiders that'll meet twice monthly. Whether your a novice or an aficionado, it's a great place and time to stretch out, sit back, and stitch! And Jackie Smerek makes her mark with a the class that all of our garment sewers have been craving - an open studio class with supervision! Check out Stitch Lounge on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month from 7-10 PM. Just the ticket for those folks who need just...a...little...bit...more! (Each time, Jackie will give a short demonstration each month on sewing techniques that'll make smooth sailing of your sewing.

Jeane Starkey stars in her own new class this trimester - Sundays with Starkey for machine embroidery. She'll help you bring your machine embroidery dreams to life! And, we're quite tickled to have Annette Corsino help you pick up your stitches in our new "The Knitted Brow" - an open studio series for our knitters! Not only can you join the fun and get expert advice on your projects in hand, but she'll have a new "stitch along" project each month in which you are welcome to partake!

That's just the tip... There's a bunch more!

Just a quick head's up for early September: QuiltWorks QW1A, the Log Cabin Session, begins Saturday, September 12th, so you'll want to get right in on it. As well, or fall series for Rock Paper Scissors commences Saturday, September 12th, too. It's likely to be a filled house (believe it or not, 125 children joined us for summer camp this year!), so you'll want to enroll right away.

Also in September, our new Dear Baby Jane class beings, as well as Becky's 7th Inning Machine Bindings course (QW1B 7, September 23), and Russell brings it on with a Jeans Jacket class for 2 Saturdays late in September.

And even that's not all!

But that does me in! I've got to run off to the printers to get the newsletter to print. But before I go, don't forget Project Runway on Thursday night at Sewing Arts! The big screen lights up just before 7 PM. Come join us for what promises to be even more fun this week! Food and drink welcome!

That's it! Hope you have a great evening! See you soon.
