Summer is closing in FAST at Sewing Arts!
Hi, folks! Yep, summer is in full swing at Sewing Arts! And it's apparent that many of you have just begun to realize that summer is almost here and school is almost out. Just today, we had 18 enrollments for summer classes of which 11 were for our Rock Paper Scissors studio sessions for children this summer! Don't worry - there's still space in most, but not for long at this rate!
Just a couple of bits for you today.
First, we're honored to have Frank Lutterloh of Lutterloh Systems fly in from Naples, FL - just for us! - to introduce the Lutterloh Pattern Making System. I made Frank's acquaintance many years ago - well before I knew that needle and thread weren't really akin to staples and duct tape... About a month ago, I was doing some research for an upcoming pattern making class I'm preparing when Frank called. He was kind enough to reacquaint me with the Lutterloh System, and he offered to fly out to Santa Monica to provide an updated introduction to the Lutterloh System. A man of his word, that's what he's doing!
This Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 29th-31st, 1-hour seminars with Frank are scheduled at Sewing Arts Center to introduce you to the Lutterloh System. Please be our guests at one of Frank's seminars scheduled for 10 AM, 2 PM or 4 PM on Friday, May 29th, Saturday, May 30th and Sunday, May 31st - the end of this week! Of course, your guests are welcome. (And yep, if you're one of my garment students, you should just think of this as an extra-curricular requirement...) In addition, on Saturday, May 30th, before Frank's demonstrations, I'll be demonstrating Husqvarna Viking's 4D Sketch software. I've been crazy about this piece of software that allows you to bring your scribbles and doodles, etchings and sketches to life in thread. And what better way to bring your personal style to bare on your custom fit Lutterloh designs! Demonstations will be at 1:30 PM and 3:30 PM on Saturday. No appointment necessary - just stop on by!
And lastly, so that I don't overwhelm your inbox, for those of you who've been waiting (and wait-listed...), 9 of the Brother Project Runway Innov-is 40 machines just arrived.
