It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like the New Year at Sewing Arts
Evening folks! I cannot believe that the number "18" is staring back at me from the December calendar. In less than two weeks, 2010 will be here!
And with 2010, the winter trimester commences. And finally, it's plotted, printed, and plugged in! At the upper right of the website, you can print your very own copy of our course offerings for the winter trimester commencing January 1st, 2010 and concluding April 30, 2010.
Lots of new classes on board, and some old favorites are peaking through once again. The full Home Dec introductory series is back, as well as some additions to our Sewing S1C series (in addition to the jeans or dress, you can now choose to make a jacket, too!). We're introducing even more Rock, Paper, Scissors sessions for our younger sewing folk. And...get this...a pattern drafting course! I know...more than you can stand... Enrollment is with instructor approval only, and you must have completed coursework inclusive of Sewing S1C prior to enrollment (or have equivalent, demonstrable experience.) There's a morning and an evening series, and both have very limited capacity. If you're interested, give Russell (that'd be me) a call for the particulars right away.
We've also developed an entire new series of classes this trimester that we've captured under the heading "Heartworks". These classes are designed to provide you the means - the tools - to express your creative sewing genius more completely - a way for you to weave your signature more uniquely through your sewing. Though each class within the series stands on its own and can be taken without taking the entire series, each session will build upon the prior session’s work. Take a look at 'em. They're small introductory bites of a bunch of techniques that will build your repertoire of sewing techniques and help you to imbue your sewing gifts with more uniquity than ever.
And finally, we're plugging together an open studio, both day time and evening slots, under the heading, "The Tailor's Ham". Offered twice monthly, you'll have both a day time and an evening opportunity to bring your raw sewing talent and your projects and get expert assistance.
On the sales floor, of course we've got some fabulous gift giving opportunities. Don' let 'em pass you by. And don't wait until the last minute! It's amazing how many sewing machines have been making their ways to new homes. We still have a fairly decent inventory, but if there's a particular model upon which your eyes have landed, don't wait until the last minute, as it's going to be hard to provide excellent Santa Elf services at the very last minute... (speaking of which, we'll close at 2 PM on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve -- at least we think we'll be closing at 2 PM. Sometimes we don't get out as early as we plan to.)
That does me in for the minute. But before I bid you good night and good day, more than anything, folks, I just want you to know that I am grateful for your kindness, your support, your friendship. At the end of the day, i look through my day and see you there. And I can truly say that you've helped bring lots of joy to the world. Joy to my world.
And I am blessed.
On behalf of everyone at Sewing Arts, all our best to you and yours this holiday season.
xoxo Russell and the Sewing Arts Gang
