August Is Nearly Here...
Afternoon, kids! How's the day treating you? It's cooking here... Been crazy busy! Lots of machines - lots of cabinets - lots of lots of...
Just a couple of quick reminders... This Sunday, August 2nd, we're unveiling our new Generations 12-needle table-top embroidery machine. Our Generations representative, Neil Kelly, will be on hand to answer questions and to demonstrate the machine and Generations' automatic digitizing embroidery software. Even if you have no idea what I'm talking about, come by! It's a rare opportunity to see a machine and software like this in action and to get the inside scoop from someone on the inside...
Both Sunday Generations lecture/demonstrations still have space: August 2nd: the first at 11 AM; the second at 2 PM. Participation is free, but seating is limited to 18 folks per session. Plan for about an hour. And, just for attending the demonstration, you'll get a free package of embroidery designs! So, if you're already into embroidery, or thinking about equipment, or simply wondering what it's all about, you'll not want to miss out on this rare opportunity.
And Maile's Mom, Vicky Masuoka, swam (swum? swimmed?) from Hawaii (OK, she flew, but it's not quite as interesting a visual...) just for us! (Well, that's not quite true, either. Probably came to see Maile and her husband and her fabulously adorable baby...) Anyway... I digress. What I haven't told you is that Vicky Masuoka owns a sewing shop in Hawaii, and is going to be teaching here at Sewing Arts THIS week! She'll wow you with two different classes. First she'll keep you in stitches with her world-renown 3-Hour Hawaiian Shirt Class! In just 3 hours, a sprinkle of sewing and a few giggles, a Hawaiian shirt will magically appear before you. You can catch the magic on Thursday, July 30, from 6-9 PM, or Saturday, August 1, from 2-5 PM.
Vicky's second class is a lecture demonstration on Hawaiian applique. If you've ever wondered just how it's created, here’s your rare opportunity to find out directly from the horse's mouth, as it were (there's got to be a more colorful way to say that...) Vicky will have books and pillow kits available for sale, too! This lecture is on Friday, July 31, from 2-5 PM.
That should be enough to keep you in trouble all weekend long! Hope we see you all this weekend!
That does me in again! See you soon!
xoxo Russell and the Sewing Arts Gang
