Sewing Arts Center - It's All VERY Exciting!
Hi, folks! It’s my semi-kind-of-regular-every-other-week-or-so attempt to keep you up to date with all the news that’s “sew” important at Sewing Arts… (It’s been a long day…my brain hurts…be kind…) There’s TONS to tell you, so I’ll try to be brief – capturing just the highlights in 10,0000 words or less...
First, the new fall class schedule isn’t done…just yet… (Nothing like cramming it in just before the wire…) Reason being, we’ve got lots of great new classes we’re trying to plug in and some wonderful new instructors joining us for the fall. So, as usual, it’s a juggle, but coming together. Suffice it to say it’ll be great, and it’ll be worth the wait… (and it’s not too late to voice your last minute requests…)
And relevant to class requests, for those of you who’ve been anxiously awaiting more hand embroidery classes, you’ll be glad to know there’ll be several available to you during the fall. In preparation, we are now carrying the full line of DMC embroidery floss – arrived yesterday and available today! (Hoops will be arriving shortly…)
Next, many of you have come in surprised that we still have fabric. Certainly not as much as we did, but yes, indeed, there’s still fabric. (Speaking of fabric, all prints through the weekend are 50% off, as we need to clear some more space!) I know… I said we weren’t going to have fabric… We couldn’t stand it. So, we’ll still carry a finely-tuned selection of 400 fabrics consisting primarily of hand-dyed goods, P&B’s Color Spectrum solids, Robert Kaufman’s Quilter’s Tweed line, and a sprinkling of prints we can’t live without!
In addition to these, we’ve broadened our variety of fabrics to include cotton/bamboo stretch fabrics and sweatshirt fleece - with ribbings to match! And you’ll also find a nice array of light pant weight cotton twills and a couple of denims to boot.
Which brings me to some even more very exciting news: we are pleased to announce our newest product additions that are in house and ready for you. First, Generations’ 12-needle table top embroidery machine arrived this past Sunday, and quite a few of you took the opportunity to sit in on Neil Kelly’s Generations demonstration. The machine is amazing and the machine embroidery software is truly magical and a real pleasure to use! (Look forward to Generations software classes this fall!)
Equally very, very exciting is the arrival at Sewing Arts of ABM International’s Innova 26” stitch regulated quilting machine! Not only are we representing ABM’s remarkable equipment, but we’re also preparing to set up so that you can rent time on the machine at the shop to do your very own long arm quilting! If you’d like more information, just let Becky know and we’ll get the skinny to you just as soon as we’re ready to launch. In the meantime, come by! It’s a beautiful machine. And the stitch regulator? Amazing!
That’s it! Hope you all have an extraordinary week! See you soon.
---keeping you in stitches---
